Bible lessons for kids is of utmost importance to homeschooling.
It is my personal belief that the heart of your homeschool adventure should be teaching your children about God and training them to grow up to be Godly men and women of faith.
A good education is important, but the bottom line is that if your children do not have a saving faith in God, they have nothing.
Let me tell you a story …
One day, I was feeling sorry for myself.
I was tired, burned out, and just generally overworked – sound familiar ???? I had been trying to clean, feed kids, teach kids and take care of the babies and …
I was sick. Nothing serious, just one of those rotten colds. The kids were "running amuck" 🙂 the toddler was making a mess and the baby was crying.
So I escaped.
I put the baby in the stroller, told the kids to watch the toddler and went for a walk. As I started walking and feeling like I did ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING in the world ALL BY MYSELF (I was really feeling sorry for myself) I thought, "What would they all do if I died?"
This is a sobering thought. I quickly quit feeling sorry for myself and thought, "What WOULD they do if something happened to me? What would be the most important thing I would need to teach my children if I knew I was no longer going to be around?"
It did not take me long to realize that ONE THING is a saving knowledge of God. To really know Jesus as their Savior. To know the Bible. To have a relationship with the Holy Spirit and be led to be Godly men and women.
This was the defining moment when I knew that the most important part of our home school was God. I knew I had to put bible lessons for my kids first and everything else would have to come second.
If they're math whizzes – great.
If they can win a spelling bee – great.
If they can recite every historically significant date since the beginning of time – great.
All of these things are great, but not if they do not know God.
Put Him first and everything else will fall in place.
As you start your home school or continue what you have already started, please take time to consider what I have said and be sure that bible lessons for kids is the center of your homeschool.
Always make God the focus of your homeschool ~ Nothing is more important than God!
